Lewis Hamilton is having a tough time at Mercedes for the time being. Whereas he has been consistently competing for the world title since 2014, he did not get further than seventh and thirteenth place during the first two free practice sessions of the Australian Grand Prix. Hamilton therefore knows that something has to change, although it remains to be seen when this will happen.

Because of the new regulations, the teams had to deal with a completely different composition of the car this season. It was bad news for Mercedes. Although the team was competing for the podiums for years, this season the German racing team has not progressed beyond the middle of the driver field.

Hamilton is experiencing difficult times

As a result, Hamilton can do nothing but adapt himself to his team, even if it costs him. For example, two weeks ago after the GP of Saudi Arabia, he asked how many points he received for his achieved tenth place. Despite the Briton's disappointments, he retains faith in his team and hopes for better times.

"I just try to do the best each weekend," he told Sky Sports F1 in an interview. "I trust and believe in this team. There is no co-incidence that we are 8-time World Champions, so we keep our heads down because there is nothing we can't do."
