Charles Leclerc was fastest during the second free practice session on Friday in Australia. In the first free practice, Ferrari was also fastest. Still, the Monegasque thinks there is room for improvement.

Leclerc not satisfied despite fastest time

Max Verstappen was hot on the heels of the Monegasque and also the analysis of long runs shows that the Dutchman and the Ferrari driver are very evenly matched this weekend. In a press release Leclerc elaborates on his Friday at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne: "For me, today was a bit more difficult Friday. FP1 was quite tricky. In terms of driving, I improved in FP2. There is still quite a bit of work to do though."

According to Leclerc, he can still be a lot faster this weekend. Not only Ferrari, but most teams and drivers also.

"I don’t think that anyone really put their lap together. Qualifying is tomorrow and hopefully we'll have a good run then."

Indeed, the practice sessions showed that the drivers were suffering from each other and that it was difficult to drive a flawless fast lap. Verstappen indicated at the end of FP2 that he could not finish his fastest lap at speed. Lewis Hamilton and Lance Stroll had to go to the stewards for impeding other drivers in turn thirteen.
