Max Verstappen took his first win of the 2022 season in Saudi Arabia on Sunday. However, it was Charles Leclerc who was named Driver of the Day by global Formula 1 fans, but GPblog readers have a different opinion.

At the top, the race got off to a slow start, but in the closing stages of the race, Leclerc and Verstappen fought in an intense battle for victory. In the end, it was Verstappen who managed to keep the Ferrari driver behind.

Sergio Perez started from pole position and kept control of the race for a long time, but due to bad timing of the safety car, the Mexican dropped back to P4. Unfortunately, this caused him to miss out on the podium, but Perez still ended up with 4% of the votes. Esteban Ocon also score some points with 4% of the votes after his P6 finish in the race.

Victory to Verstappen

Leclerc won the vote of the GPblog readers in Bahrain, but this week Verstappen takes a convincing victory with 58% of the votes. Leclerc does not come close to the score of the Dutchman with 35% of the votes, but he does finish miles ahead of Perez and Ocon.
