The first victory of the year went to Ferrari, for whom the Bahrain Grand Prix turned into a 1-2 result. Helmut Marko admits that he may have underestimated the Italian racing stable. At the same time, Max Verstappen is not at all worried about his team's chances in Saudi Arabia.

Marko calls the deficit "painful," but at the same time acknowledges that there is nothing that can be done about it. The only thing Red Bull Racing can do is work even harder to get back on top. That potential is there according to Marko, although he admits he may have underestimated the speed of Ferrari.

Verstappen is confident in Red Bull's speed

Verstappen agrees with the words of the Red Bull Racing chief. "The speed is there," says the Dutchman in conversation with Motorsport.com. According to him, that is therefore not where the problem lies. He emphasizes that his team was competing for victory in Bahrain, while things were not quite right.

Several times during the race, Verstappen expressed his dissatisfaction with the RB18, which ran into several problems. Martin Brundle concluded from this that the reigning world champion 'was angry during a large part of the race'. In retrospect, however, that turned out to be not so bad. "I've been angrier before," Verstappen said.
