The GP at COTA has been a great success for many years. This season there is also a race in Miami on the program, so that the North American country is extensively represented on the racing calendar. It would not be the first time that Formula 1 held a race in Las Vegas. In 1981 and 1982 the Formula 1 circus also traveled to the illustrious city to organize a GP. Back then, the winners of the weekend were Michele Alboreto and Alan Jones respectively.
