Mercedes jokes about Red Bull: 'Is this the official comment?'

Mercedes' social media team is very sharp at the start of the season. To a response from Red Bull Racing 's team, the German team is playing very slyly with current events.

The 2022 Formula 1 season has barely begun and already the first controversy has arisen. Mercedes' redesigned W13 was in the spotlight on Thursday morning, but it was mainly about Christian Horner 's statement that he may or may not have made.

The Red Bull Racing team boss has, according to Auto, Motor und Sport said that the W13 violates the regulations and the W13 also has several illegal parts, according to Horner. Red Bull denied that Horner would have said that, adjusted the statement and Horner himself also let it be known that he has not officially said anything about this.

The social media team used that statement directly against Red Bull. When a Mercedes fan asks online if George Russell 's number on the car is in a different color than Lewis Hamilton's number, Mercedes responds with ''Just you wait, sunshine.'' Red Bull responds by saying that is a phrase of theirs, to which Mercedes responds, ''Is that an official comment?''
