Marko sees Verstappen's position can 'make McLaren nervous at least'

Talking to GPblog after qualifying, the Red Bull external advisor looked ahead to the Grand Prix on Sunday.
Max Verstappen will start from third place on the grid, after he finished behind pole sitter Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris on Saturday afternoon.
"[Nine tenths behind] This morning and now we are only two tenths [behind], so I think that puts us in a position to make McLaren at least nervous tomorrow," Marko began.
Asked whether the Dutchman can make a move into Turn 1, he added: "Yeah, why not? We know what Max is capable of, but at least we are there."

Stella warns of 'powerful weapon' at Verstappen's disposal

While the two McLaren drivers qualified ahead of the four-time world champion, McLaren team boss Andrea Stella did not rule out Max Verstappen when talking to GPblog among others.
"First thing we have to do in the interest of the team and in the interest of Lando and Oscar is to make sure that we beat Max, who is not very far, he was two tenths away from us," the Italian began, answering a question about whether his drivers' strategies could be different on Sunday.
"It will be interesting, not only between the two McLaren drivers, but also with the other drivers. Max, for instance, he has a new soft that he saved from qualifying. And it could be a pretty powerful weapon, if you can deploy this weapon strategically at the right time," the McLaren team principal explained.
