The Qatar Grand Prix qualifying session was briefly interrupted by a red flag following a minor incident involving the Williams team.
Carlos Sainz, who was the lone Williams driver in the final round of qualifying, triggered the red flag after a piece of plastic became stuck to his tyres.
The Spaniard, noticing the debris on his tyres, continued around the circuit until the third turn of the Lusail track, where the plastic eventually came off.

The FIA deployed a red flag, with a marshal running onto the track to remove the plastic tape that had stuck to Sainz’s car.
