After qualifying, it looks like Red Bull Racing has barely made any progress. Alexander Albon was seven hundredths faster this season than in 2019. This year he drove a 1.20.021 and last year he drove a 1.20.090. Max Verstappen did not qualify last season so his times are not comparable.

The winners and losers

However, the Dutchman is more than two tenths faster than his teammate. Verstappen recorded a time of 1.19.795 at Monza. Mercedes was able to take a big step, because Lewis Hamilton was half a second faster on Saturday than he was last year.

Charles Leclerc was in pole position with his Ferrari last season. This season, on the other hand, he has to come up from midfield. The Monegasque was almost a second slower on Saturday than it was last season.
