Another day, another Max-article, another veggiewax reaction . . . The claim that Max would be fine with the current regulations if he were to win is not based on any knowledge, but purely on veggiewax's personal prejudices. I am of the opinion that under all circumstances, Max would have found the current Formula Fake – The 26’ Open Duracell Championships - downright worthless. That is my personal prejudice; just as valuable/worthless and 100% sheit as veggiewax's. The 'positive sustainability argument' linked to the current regulations is absurd. In 2025, F1 cars emitted approximately 375 kg of CO2 per race. 375 x 20 cars x 24 races = 180,000 kg or 180 tons of CO2. Thanks to biofuel, this is saved. On an annual basis—all travel during the season—an F1 team accounts for approximately 29,000,000 kg, or 2,900 tons of CO2 . . . that is per team . . . These new regulations save therefore 180 tons, but since F1 gained a team, thus spending an extra 2,900 tons, and has therefore, on balance, started emitting (2,900 - 180) 2,720 tons of CO2 MORE. Without an extra team, the 180 tons on the total emissions of the entire circus represents a reduction of 0.62% on total emissions. Now that is a solid green argument in favor of these new regulations, right? What constitutes entertainment is subjective. Some enjoy watching the Kardashians, while others can follow a political debate for hours. That is all fine. Personally, when I look at this year's races and the behavior of the cars on the track, compared to ALL previous seasons, I can only conclude that Formula 1 as I have followed it for nearly 50 years no longer exists. I find that a shame, but I wholeheartedly wish everyone who does enjoy the new way of racing the pleasure. Let's just not pretend that these new regulations are the salvation of the sport and the only way to keep it healthy in the future. If the current regulations won’t change, a group of people will drop out and follow their motorsport elsewhere. A group will stay, and possibly a new group of viewers will be tapped into. This would have happened under any regulations. Formula 1 is changing from a European-oriented sport into a – in every respect – global sport. These changes are apparently part of that. At this moment, Formula 1 no longer exists. It has become something else, and apart from mocking names, I do not yet know what to call it. Perhaps it couldn't be otherwise. Everything changes; that is the law of existence. Except for the senseless drivel/posts of veggiewax, those remain. Perhaps we should find solace in that.
