Max Verstappen had to fight a fierce battle with Lewis Hamilton last season to take the world title, but things look different this year. The Dutchman's lead is now so big that even Mika Hakkinen cannot imagine the driver giving it away.
Verstappen entered the summer break with a lead of eighty points, which he managed to extend during the first race weekend of the second half of the season. Whereas Charles Leclerc finished in sixth place, the reigning world champion took a convincing victory.

Hakkinen expects second world title for Verstappen

With the Grands Prix of the Netherlands and Monza on the programme, Verstappen looks set to further extend his lead of 98 points over the Monegasque in the coming period. According to Hakkinen, little can happen to him in the rankings, he said in an interview with Unibet.
"The Red Bull car seems to be getting even quicker," the analyst revealed. "On top of that, Ferrari just don’t seem to have the consistency and confidence, so although I expect Leclerc to be able to win again, I don’t think he will be able to keep Verstappen from adding to his lead."
