Pierre Gasly has praised the performance of Alpine after the Frenchman scored a point at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, marking the first points finish in a Grand Prix since the Belgian GP back in late July. Very happy, because the last time we scored points on a Sunday was in Spa before the summer break.
- Pierre GaslyAlpine has endured a difficult 2025 championship campaign, scoring just 22-points from 21 Grands Prix and five sprint races. All of these points have been scored by Gasly.
The Frenchman said: "It's one point, I'm definitely not going to complain about it because I would have taken it every single day since three months [ago]. I do feel we had some more pace that we were not able to show."
Gasly also scored a point during the Brazil sprint race, finishing in eighth position. This result boosts the Frenchman further ahead of Bortoleto in the drivers' standings,
who had a difficult home Grand Prix.Gasly went on to praise Alpine's setup for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, saying: "I was able to drive in a way that I want. The car was responding to what I expect the car to do. We were actually very competitive in the corners and I was pleased. We had a lot more potential."

However, Gasly was also able to highlight key areas where the A525 may have struggled at the
Interlagos circuit, mentioning:
"I'm losing the positions in the straights. Managed to dive twice in the inside of Hadjar, but every time in the straight to Turn 4, he passed me very easily. I feel like I had more pace, just not really able to fully show it."Focusing on the bigger picture for Alpine, Gasly said: "It's important to understand where that entire potential came from and where it was the last few weekends. For sure it must be a track characteristic as well, but there is more to it, I think. For me it was night and day with what I felt since three months [ago]."
