Success for Honda again: 'That is of course a fantastic result'

For Honda it was another great Grand Prix. The Japanese team saw two of their powered cars on the podium with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, with Yuki Tsunoda also finishing ninth.

Strong weekend for Honda

It may be Honda's last year in Formula 1, but the Japanese are trying to finish with a bang. Verstappen took his eighth win of the season in the United States. With Mexico and Brazil next on the calendar, the momentum is now on the side of Red Bull Racing-Honda.

''Max winning from pole and Checo joining him on the podium with his third place finish is a fantastic result for Honda and for Red Bull Racing. It's our second consecutive double podium finish and both were achieved with special colours'', said Toyoharu Tanabe in the review of honda. ''Max's strategy called for an early stop and Hamilton was really catching up, in what became an exciting finale. Max did his best to manage his race pace and tyres well. Checo was fast all weekend and his second third place in a row is very important for us in the constructors' championship.'

The lead for Verstappen in the standings is strong, but Tanabe also knows that there are still five races to go. ''There are only five races to go, but it's going to be a long and hard road to the end of the season, where every race is very important and we intend to do our best in all of them,'' the Honda top executive concludes.
