The United States Grand Prix has a different schedule than we are used to lately. Due to the time difference of seven hours all sessions will start in the evening for the European viewers. This means that qualifying is also later than usual.

Before the start of the qualification, the third free practice will be held. This training starts on Saturday evening at 20:00. This hour gives the teams and drivers the opportunity to make some final adjustments to the car. After this hour of practice the teams will get ready for the qualification for the United States GP.

When does qualifying start?

The qualifying for the United States Grand Prix starts at 23:00. Looking at the results of the first practice sessions, it seems that one of the Mercedes drivers has the best chance to get pole position. Max Verstappen was almost a second behind Lewis Hamilton in the first free practice session and we can therefore expect a difficult qualifying session for the Dutchman.

In the last few races Red Bull Racing has struggled to compete with Mercedes. To stay in the race with Hamilton for the championship, Verstappen cannot afford to start outside the top three on Sunday.
