After the Steiermark Grand Prix there was a lot of talk about whether or not to develop the 2021 car. It is difficult for the Formula 1 teams to develop the current car and the one for 2022 at the same time, especially since only 145 million dollar can be spent since this year. What is the wise course for the teams?

Mercedes said in Austria that they have stopped further development of the W12, so that they can focus on 2022 when the new regulations enter into Formula 1. If you miss the mark next year and start with a large backlog, you could suffer for up to three years.

Red Bull updates

Red Bull seems to be continuing to bring updates for a longer period of time. Five trucks full of new parts are said to have arrived at the Red Bull Ring last weekend. But won't that be at the expense of next year's developments? The manpower is of course limited.

At the same time Red Bull can grab its first world title since 2013 this year in both drivers and constructors. Max Verstappen is in the lead in the world championship and the last four races have all been won by the Austrian formation. There is therefore an excellent opportunity.

Should Red Bull grab the 2021 title at all costs or should they also stop developing the RB16B from the summer break (bearing in mind that Mercedes are also shifting their focus to 2022, or at least say they are)? Let us know in the poll and comment section!
