Bottas: "Victory would have been difficult, Verstappen and Red Bull were fast"

Valtteri Bottas did not see the finish flag of the Monaco Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver experienced a notable problem during his pit stop, which prevented the car from returning to the track. It is already the second time in 2021 that the Finn has failed to score points.
Bad luck for Bottas
Bottas crashed out disappointingly after driving in second place behind Max Verstappen for a long time. "I don't know what happened at the pit stop. I don't know if it was a human error or a technical error. Whatever it was, we have to learn from it. It was a big mistake by us and that should not happen," Bottas said in front of the Ziggo Sport camera.
"Victory was going to be difficult, Max and Red Bull were fast, so that was going to be difficult. Second place was good for a lot of points, but we lost it. Max was fast and they were able to go longer on the softs in the first stint. You never know if we could have challenged them," concluded the Finn.
