Max Verstappen triumphed in Imola, after years of not being able to reach the podium in Italy. Jeroen Bleekemolen thinks that the Red Bull Racing driver is now one step better than rival Lewis Hamilton.

Strong start was on the edge

Bleekemolen thinks Verstappen won the race especially at the start: "He got away really well now. In the rain you don't know how much grip there is on the rear tyres. You have to time it just right and he did that perfectly. In the first corner it was a bit on the edge, but that's racing. He didn't get a penalty for it either", he told The Telegraph.

According to Bleekemolen Hamilton and Verstappen are in a class of their own and are a lot faster than the rest of the field. The cars of the two drivers are not that much better than the cars in the midfield according to the Dutch driver.

Verstappen above Hamilton

"I think Max is a bit stronger than Hamilton at the moment with the Red Bull," says Bleekemolen. The two stand head and shoulders above the rest of the field, but still Verstappen does that just a little bit more than Hamilton.
