Marko explains what Tsunoda learnt in his year in F2

Yuki Tsunoda will make his Formula One debut for Alpha Tauri in 2021. The Japanese driver made a strong impression in 2020, and he has impressed Red Bull's management enough to take the next step.

Tsunoda made his Formula 2 debut in 2020, and despite it being his first year, Tsunoda made a big impact. He had mechanical breakdowns here and there, but also made mistakes himself at times but was still very fast and finished third in the F2 standings.

As a result, he does very well learned, but when it comes down to it, he makes uncanny overtaking maneuvers, as the last Formula 2 races have clearly proven," Helmut Marko said according to Motorsport-magazine.com.

Franz Tost will give Tsunoda time to adapt to his new surroundings. "It takes a while, of course, until a driver is used to all of this," Tost explained. \

"But I think in the second half, and if he knows the tracks like Barcelona, ​​Silverstone, Austria, Hungary, where he has already driven in Formula 2 and Formula 3, then hopefully he will really challenge Pierre.

"Show up close to him. I expect him to come to Q3 soon and collect points for the team."
