One of the debutants in Formula 1 next year is Nikita Mazepin. The Russian will make his appearance next to Mick Schumacher at Haas, but he is certainly not undisputed.

Fuck you money

In the Formula 1 podcast of the NOS the arrival of Nikita Mazepin is discussed. The Russian driver was regularly in the news in a negative way. Not only due to actions on the track, but also off to the track. "People who are so rich are also called people with fuck you money", explains Jan Lammers. "They can do whatever they want.”

Lammers does not have a good word to say about the behaviour of the billionaire son. "This behaviour is, of course, reprehensible. He has overdue maintenance in parenting." Louis Dekker agrees with Lammers. "His behaviour does not fit into the world of Formula 1. He's very controversial at the moment."

Still give him a chance

Despite his reprehensible behaviour, Mazepin still deserves a chance, says Lammers. "Let's hope that the attention he’s getting is exactly the therapy to put this right. It's good when he sees that the world doesn’t work this way. You shouldn't deprive him of the opportunity to repent. I am always in favour of giving someone a chance.”

Haas team boss Guenther Steiner said earlier that he was going to discuss the situation with Mazepin internally. Louis Dekker thinks he knows why it is being dealt with in this way. "Without Mazepin, I'm afraid Haas is bankrupt. The team brought him in purely for the money."
