Bottas: "I was playing around with it a little bit and it was really fun"

Valtteri Bottas finished ninth and third over the two opening sessions in Turkey on what was a very slippy circuit. Despite the troubles the track may have caused the Finn admitted he actually quite enjoyed driving on it.

"At first it was quite a long way from what we are normally used to in Formula 1. I did enjoy it. I was playing around with it a little bit and it was really fun," a casual Bottas said to Formula1.com afterwards.

Difficult to determine a strategy

However, Bottas, too, admitted that this is not a normal situation for Formula 1. During winter tests and some other Grands Prix this season there was also little grip, but all that was nothing compared to what the drivers faced today.

"The slippery asphalt made it quite extreme. The soft tire felt by far the best, but the track is going to change a lot, so it is difficult to make the right decision for the strategy now," said Bottas, who hopes to keep the World Championship alive this weekend.
