GP Portugal preview Red Bull: Q&A with Verstappen

This weekend, for the first time, the Grand Prix of Portugal will take place on the circuit of the Algarve near Portimão. The Red Bull Racing team looks ahead with their driver Max Verstappen in the form of a Q&A.

First it's Max Verstappen's turn. Earlier this year he drove a GT car on the track, which he enjoyed. "It's a great track. I was here for a couple of days and it rained a lot, but I like that," said Max in the Red Bull Racing Q&A.

So Verstappen has got to know the track a little bit. What can he tell us about the characteristics of the track? "The track has a lot of height differences and the layout is very cool. It's a bit technical, but in general it's a fast track and I feel like driving it in an F1 car right now. I always like to go to a new track, it's different for everyone. It can lead to unpredictable results, that's what makes it interesting."

At the Eifel Grand Prix, Verstappen was once again able to position himself among the Mercedes cars. In Portugal he hopes to continue the good results. "At the Nürburgring we had a good weekend, I think we made progress with the car. We seemed to be closer to Mercedes, so that's very positive. With a new job in prospect, I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do," he said.
