Racing Point and Mercedes also on the same side Concorde Agreement

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has already indicated that he is waiting to sign the Concorde Agreement. Racing Point also appears to be unwilling to sign the agreement at the moment. That while Christian Horner was pretty sure that everyone would agree.

Mercedes and Racing Point do not agree

Wolff mainly falls over the distribution of the money. The budget cap is a thorn in his side and the Austrian thinks that the Mercedes team should be rewarded for its exceptional performance and for the big billboard they are for the sport.

Racing Point team boss Otmar Szafnauer is also not so keen on the current proposal. In conversation with he says: "The biggest part of the Concorde is fine as far as we are concerned. But there's still some smoothing along the edges to do".

Szafnauer eighty percent agree with Concorde Agreement

Szafnauer looks at it in percentages: "In other words, there is still some work to be done before we agree. It's not one hundred percent, but eighty percent. If we had to sign today, we would have demanded five to ten percent more."

The requirements of Racing Point are mainly focused on the management of F1 and how Liberty Media does this. A small part of their demands are focused on money matters. Szafnauer is brief about the financial plans of F1: "We're getting close, but they can do better".
