In two weeks time the F1 season will finally start. Originally the season in Australia should have started in March, but due to the coronavirus the start of the season had to wait a long time. Now that we only have two weeks until everything starts again, the teams are already taking measures to keep the chance of infection as low as possible. Also at McLaren they are taking a lot of measures.

Andreas Seidl, team boss of McLaren, explains in a video of the team what measures have been taken. "Around the racing team, we've now separated them from the factory team. Just to make sure that we are in our own 'bubble' as soon as possible". So now there are two separate teams at the factory, all doing different work.

Limiting damage

Seidl also lets you know that they are practicing and preparing to apply the new measures. "We are also doing a lot of work to be ready for Austria. There will be many new procedures, such as keeping a distance and wearing the mouthguard everywhere. There are many things we have to take into account."

Another important point to take into account, according to the team boss of McLaren, is to have enough parts for the ten races that will be held in eight weeks. "It's important that we can get back to 100% production as soon as possible because you need to have a lot of parts ready when accidents happen during one of the ten races. So we also have to make sure that we don't get any technical problems," Seidl concluded.
