Ferrari seeks new talent in Australia and New Zealand

Ferrari is looking for new talent in Australia. Motosport Australia reports that the Ferrari Driver Academy will set up a new development program in Sydney. They are going to look there for the development of regional talent for the future.

New academy

The academy will be based in Sydney Motorsport Park and will be looking for talent from Australia, New Zealand and countries in East and Southeast Asia as well as the Indian subcontinent.

Charles Leclerc has already made his breakthrough as a talent of the Ferrari Driver Academy and currently Mick Schumacher is also on hold for a seat in Formula 1 through the academy of Ferrari.

Australian World Champion

"Our up-and-coming open wheel drivers will now have an even better opportunity to be part of the Formula 1 system at an early age", said Motorsport Australia President Andrew Papadopoulos in a statement.

"Australians have proven throughout history that they can compete with the best in the world. We believe this program will help us find the next Daniel Ricciardo or Mark Webber, and hopefully the next Australian Formula 1 World Champion", said Papadopoulos.
