Prost: "Performance of Verstappen is exceptionally good"

Max Verstappen has been able to gain a lot of experience of the years. This year, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing have tried to put together a car that he hopes can seriously challenge Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton. This weekend we get a first impression of the relationship between the teams, nonetheless, the Dutchman has a good chance according to Alain Prost.

Can Hamilton and Verstappen be compared to greats from the past? A question that is regularly reviewed, but in front of the NOS camera, four-time champion Alain Prost says he is not a fan of it: “It is difficult to compare. I prefer not to compare different generations, but what he performs personally and with the team is exceptionally good."

“They will be even more competitive this year. The good thing for him is that he is the first driver. Max is the number one in the team. That is less clear with Ferrari. I think he definitely has a chance," says the Frenchman.

Good for the sport

A driver like Verstappen has caused a stir in Formula 1, has driven beautiful races and that is exactly what the sport needed. Prost also agrees: "He will be motivated to the bone and that is good for himself and for the sport."

“It will be exciting and we would like to see that as fans. It will be very fascinating," says Prost, who looks forward to the coming season.
