FIA present an evolution of the Formula E car ahead of 2020-2021 season
With Formula 1 heading for a rules and regulation overhaul in 2021, Formula E won't be without their own changes. Announced on Tuesday, Formula E will be updating the model of their car for the 2020-21 season.
Gen2 EVO
In 2018, Formula E introduced a Gen2 car which meant that drivers no longer had to change vehicles because of a flat battery. It was always funny watching the drivers hop into a different car, but with better electrical technology, it's no longer needed.
A major step forward was therefore made in the 2018-2019 season, but with the Gen2 EVO the electric class goes one step further. In this evolution, the modified front wing, rear wing and the additional 'shark fin' are the most important changes. At the presentation, Formula E top man told Autosport to be proud of the new concept.

"The Gen2 already stands out as one of the most striking race cars to hit the track, and just as the name implies, the Gen2 EVO is another evolution of the distinctive design. As we did with the first-generation car, the Gen2 EVO has been given reprofiled bodywork to make it look more sleek and agile," Alejandro Agag said.
"Its futuristic design once again showcases Formula E as the category for innovation in both technological advances and appearance."
The FE has just started the 2019-2020 season. Two races were held in Saudi Arabia and then we saw a race in Chile. The race in China has been cancelled this month due to the coronavirus.
