Max Verstappen had yet another year of progress further increasing his stock. The Dutchman's contract runs out next season but the man himself has all but ruled out partnering one driver in the near future.

Verstappen won three races in 2019, the Austrian, German and Brazilian Grand Prix all of which delivered plenty of drama. The Red Bull driver finished third in the Drivers' Championship only being beaten by both Mercedes drivers.

One man he clashed with on several occasions was Charles Leclerc. Both youngsters had breakout seasons but Verstappen has all but ruled out potentially driving with him in the future.

“I don't think about that at all. He [Leclerc] has no influence on that anyway, so it doesn't matter," Verstappen told Ziggo Sport.

"I don't think it will happen anyway. Think that you should not let two potential number one drivers ride next to each other.

On the possibility of partnering Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes, Verstappen added: “Who knows, at the moment I am not thinking too much about it, but ultimately what matters is what the team thinks.

"I can and he can, but in the end the team decides what will happen."
