The final race weekend of the 2019 season is well and truly underway and we had a dramatic FP1 session earlier this morning. Valtteri Bottas went quickest, with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton behind him in the top three. Find out all of what happened in FP1 here.

Bottas was the quickest by half a second with the Finn taking a brand-new power unit this weekend, meaning he'll start at the foot of the grid in Sunday's race, but at the moment, he looks as if he has the better of the two Mercedes engines, with Hamilton on the older spec.

Verstappen looked quick for Red Bull on a Friday morning that will have no real relevance to how the race pans out, with the session taking place in daylight and Sunday's race in Abu Dhabi under the lights.

Daniel Ricciardo suffered an oil leak, causing somewhat of a mini explosion with Pierre Gasly feeling the wrath of it just behind the Aussie driver, with the Renault on a hot lap at the time.

Sebastian Vettel had a nightmare conclusion to the race, crashing out and causing a red flag, meaning the FP1 session came to a premature finish.
