Five-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has insisted he has "no interest whatsoever" in racing in Formula E in the near-future, as he's revealed he will be aiming to go carbon neutral by 2020.

Hamilton went on a bit of an outburst on his Instagram account recently, complaining about how the environment is treated and he has come in for plenty of criticism because of his comments.

The multiple times world champion could make it six times on Sunday, depending on the result in Mexico, and he has revealed his plans to go carbon neutral by next year in the FIA press conference prior to the Mexican Grand Prix this weekend.

"I was watching a documentary and it was just sad to see the things that we are kind of not aware of," the Mercedes man said. "It just inspired me to want to do more and reach out to those who perhaps don't know some of the things that are happening.

"I'm trying to make sure that by the end of the year, I'm carbon neutral. I don't allow anyone in my office but also within my household to buy any plastics. I want everything recycle-able down to deodorant, down to toothbrush, all these kinds of things. So I'm trying to make as much change as I can in my personal space."

There have been numerous calls for Hamilton to switch to the all-electric series in motorsport; Formula E, but the 34-year-old has denied his interest in the series.

"I have no interest whatsoever to do Formula E," Hamilton said. "That's not something I plan currently to do."
