Ferrari has begun the Russian Grand Prix weekend very strongly and believe that as a result, they don't need to introduce any more major updates in the remainder of the season. The team had a really strong weekend in Singapore as picked up the pole and Sebastian Vettel won the race.

Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto was left in a positive mood after Charles Leclerc performed brilliantly in the first two practice sessions in Russia.

"We were competitive and that was important for us," Binotto said.

"We did a fantastic qualifying in Singapore with the new aero package.

"It was important to confirm how good was the package coming here, different types of tracks and set-ups.

"We've been fast, and competitive on the high-fuel runs, so in general I am quite happy."

Ferrari has performed admirably since the summer break, winning the past two races to close the gap on Mercedes, who have been well clear at the top.
