Nicholas Latifi will conduct the "unique challenge" of driving in back-to-back practice sessions during the French Grand Prix weekend.

The Williams reserve driver will continue his practice programme with Williams in FP1, before jumping back into his usual F2 car to complete the race weekend.

Latifi lost ground in Monaco but remains the championship leader after an impressive start to the season. The Canadian feels well prepared and ready for a busy weekend.

"It’s also a weekend where I will be mixing my F1 duties with an F2 race weekend, which poses a unique challenge. I’m more than up for it and looking forward to what will be a very busy weekend," Latifi said.

The 23-year-old got his first taste of FP1 last time out in Canada. While he didn't have to juggle FP1 and F2 in Montreal, he enjoyed his time out on track and looks forward to continuing where he left off in the Williams car.

"I'm excited to continue my FP1 programme with the team in France coming off a successful weekend in Canada. Montreal had a lot of positives and I’m looking to build on those experiences going into Le Castellet," he added.

"It’s quite a different track with a lot less risk involved due to the nature of the circuit which will give me the confidence to push a bit harder."
