Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto has revealed the Maranello team can see glimpses of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher in his son, Mick Schumacher.

Binotto has claimed Schumacher's arrival didn't immediately bring back memories of his father, but after working with the Italian side's technicians a bit further, glimpses begun to arise.

The 20-year-old Formula 3 champion made his F1 test debut for Ferrari on the first day of the Bahrain in-season test, and the day after, switched over to Alfa Romeo Racing, to gain valuable F1 car experience.

"The very first time I saw him after many years in Maranello, when he came back, if you looked at him; I don't think he looks very similar to Michael," Binotto said, as cited by Crash.net.

"But the way he's behaving is very similar and the way he approaches the exercise and the way he's interested in the car, discussing it with the technicians. So even in Maranello, you are looking after him, but he's always in the workshop looking at the car, speaking with the mechanics, and I think that's very similar to his father."

Binotto believes it is unfair to analyse Schumacher's debut day of testing for Scuderia, as the test was in heavy rain, whilst also being his debut in an F1 car.

"To assess the performance, I think it is very difficult because first, the weather conditions were very bad on that day and because at the end I think that the objective was not really to assess the performance," Binotto concluded.
