Sebastian Vettel admitted he’s happy to keep racing following Bernie Ecclestone's claims that the four-time World Champion would be happy to walk away from the sport if he wasn’t happy.

Vettel won four world titles between 2010 and 2013 in a dominant period for Red Bull. However, since his move to Ferrari in 2015, Vettel has struggled to compete with the dominant Mercedes and has made several mistakes at crucial times.

In a recent interview with the Daily Telegraph, Bernie Ecclestone believed the German wouldn’t be afraid to walk away from the sport.

“Sebastian would stop, and I don't think it would take an awful lot for that to happen,” Ecclestone said.

Vettel was asked about Ecclestone’s in comments in China and he joked: “I'm not going to be in Formula One as long as he was, that's for sure.

“But I hope I'm going to be as fit and as sharp as he is today when I'm hopefully that old.

“At the moment I feel on top of my game, I feel that I know what I'm doing and I'm very, very self-critical, very ambitious and I put a lot of expectation on to myself.

“Yeah, I've got the contract but that's a piece of paper and then we see what happens.”
