Sporting events are key in political affairs, as they are a good opportunity for people at the top to get together and talk about their future and possible deals. The Miami Grand Prix could also play a role in this question, as reported by Newsweek, former US President Donald Trump plans to visit, but a potential fundraiser of his have been stopped by the organisers.

According to Newsweek, former United States President and current candidate Donald Trump will be present at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix. However, based on The Washington Post, an attempt to hold a fundraiser has been 'shut down' by the organisers of the event. A close ally and friend of Trump, Steven Witkoff, are believed to be planning a fundraiser in one of the suites available to be rented for the event.

A letter that was published by The Washington Post writes: "If this is true, we regret to inform you that your suite license will be revoked, you will not be allowed to attend the race at any time, and we will refund you in full." Witkoff denied the allegations to aformentioned medium.

Trump in motorsports

It would not be the first nor the last time any politician would take advantage of a sporting event to grow their network. Previously, ahead of the 2020 US Presidential elections, Trump's name appeared in NASCAR. In the 2020 season, Corey LaJoie's #32 car of team Go Fas Racing ran with a livery with "Trump 2020" written on it.

In the 2016 season, another Trump livery was used both in the NASCAR Cup and the Truck series.
