Lewis Hamilton stood by and watched Max Verstappen's RB20 after the sprint race in China. That car overtook him easily and then moved more than 10 seconds ahead before the chequered flag dropped.

After a good start, Hamilton was leading the race after the first corner combination. The Brit was able to enjoy it for nine laps only, when he saw Verstappen pass him. Hamilton revealed at the press conference that he did not bother to defend hard against Verstappen. The Red Bull is simply too fast for Mercedes' car.

At the end of the sprint race, Hamilton therefore took a quick look at the car, which pulled away from him by more than ten seconds over the remaining ten laps. Touching the car is no longer allowed, as Hamilton knows only too well. When Verstappen did so in Brazil in 2021, Verstappen was fined heavily.
