Even after his victory in Australia, Carlos Sainz still does not have a seat for next season. The Spaniard will leave Ferrari after 2024, and with many contracts expiring, he is likely to have plenty of opportunities to move to another team. Even his current teammate, Charles Leclerc, does not think Sainz will have trouble finding a new seat.

Sainz will be replaced by Lewis Hamilton from 2025. Despite that, the three-time race winner has plenty of opportunities to stay in Formula 1 next season. Eleven other drivers will also be vying for a contract for next season, whether with their current team or another team.

So it seems Sainz is trying to put himself well into the limelight. For instance, he managed to finish third in Bahrain and won the Australian Grand Prix. Red Bull team boss Christian Horner also revealed that he is keeping an eye on the Spaniard for next season. This is not surprising: the Ferrari driver is fourth in the Formula 1 championship, just seven points behind number two Leclerc, while he had to miss a race due to appendicitis.

Leclerc on Sainz 2025 situation

Therefore, the Monegasque is not worried about Sainz, who is often called underrated: "I think everybody knows Carlos' worth in the paddock. He's one of the highest rated drivers in the paddock. He's been extremely strong every time he was in a Formula 1 car. He has shown it multiple times."

Leclerc continued: "I don't think he's underrated for that. I think everybody knows Carlos' worth. That's why I've said many times that I'm not too worried about his future because I'm sure that many, many team principals are speaking with him, but he doesn’t say it! I'm sure he will have many opportunities. He'll just have to make the best choice for his career."
