It was a joyful message for Christian Horner: after weeks of suspense, it was announced that Red Bull found him not guilty of cross-border behaviour. Whether this completely ends the case remains to be seen. After all, this was an internal investigation, but the woman who accused Horner could still, for example, report the incident or go to court.

"There will be people who say that the organisation judges itself and is not subjected to other outside opinions," Damon Hill told Sky Sports. "But you are right: they have convinced themselves and they had to do that, they had to investigate an allegation and they have convinced themselves that their man is the right one and they are going to continue with what they are so good at."

Shiff wants to put Horner case behind her

Naomi Schiff, also working for the UK broadcaster, points out that Red Bull is a huge company and this was a case at the very highest level. She assumes that Red Bull managed to complete the investigation to the best of its ability as well as a fair assessment of the facts.

Schiff firmly believes that Red Bull did everything it had to do. "Their statement is hugely important. There is discretion, because people's private lives are involved, with info that does not need to be shared with the world. I hope everything is clear now, and it doesn't go ahead - unless there is a reason to. You don't want this hanging over the sport and people's trustworthiness being questioned,' Schiff said.
