The number of races in Formula 1 is at its highest in history. In 2024, there will be 24 races. Max Verstappen and others have previously commented on this, and not often positively. It can be even tougher when you also have conditions like during the Qatar Grand Prix. The three-time world champion explained a hidden difficulty in Formula 1.

"For me, the temperature in the car," Verstappen explained in a quick afterthought on Red Bull Racing's TikTok account. "When it's 30 degrees outside. When you're sitting in the car in the cockpit with the engine behind you as well, your feet, everything is actually very, very hot and warm. Especially, of course, when you have to do a race for like one and a half, two hours," he continued.

What does Verstappen want to change?

Sergio Perez and Verstappen were also asked what they would most like to change about the current Formula 1 calendar. "Fewer races," the driver with number one on his car told them, with a big grin on his face.

Verstappen managed to win no fewer than 19 times in the 2023 Formula 1 season. In his RB19, he was hardly beatable. The Dutchman called his car 'Rocky'. When asked why he called his car that, Verstappen didn't really have an explanation. "I don't know. Someone asked me if I named my cars. If it’s a he or she."
