About a thousand dollars fans paid for a day ticket to the GP in Las Vegas. So those were eight very expensive minutes on Friday, as spectators did not get any money back after the opening day ended in debacle. As 'reparation' for the cancellation of the first session and driving without a crowd during the second, they were given a $200 shopping credit to spend in an organiser's shop.

Max Verstappen thinks this decision is a joke, he revealed to the Telegraaf. "So then they make money out of it here too. Great! If I was a fan, I would tear down the whole place. This can't be true, can it?" the three-time world champion said.

Verstappen not a fan of Las Vegas GP

If anything has become clear in recent days, it is that Verstappen is not a fan of the Grand Prix in the gambling city. Although the Dutchman says he admires the way a large and modern pit complex has emerged from the ground in a short period of time, the race itself does not appeal to him much, he told the media after qualifying.

Verstappen's critical notes were also heard by Steve Hill, who works as a promoter for the city of Las Vegas. The latter already revealed - confronted with Verstappen's comments - that the Dutchman is "a bit nervous" for the race.

Asked to respond to Hill's statement, Verstappen could not help but react cynically. "Then the man knows me very well. Let him sort it out. Those people live in their own world, yo. That's no use to you at all. For me, it was a bit convenient that something went wrong in the first practice. Good luck with it," Verstappen concluded.
