Haas are at the bottom of the constructors' world championship, and that is reason enough for Ralf Schumacher to once again lash out at the American team.

The former F1 driver was already extremely critical of the team when his nephew Mick Schumacher was still driving for the team. Since Günther Steiner said goodbye to Schumacher, Ralf has not exactly mellowed.

Yet at the moment, the criticism is not unjustified. Haas has dropped to last place in the constructors' championship standings due to the advance of AlphaTauri. Haas themselves hoped to jump with the new updates in the United States. The only problem is that those updates have been rather disappointing. Schumacher reads that off mainly to Nico Hulkenberg.

Why Hulkenberg is unhappy at Haas

"Hulkenberg also realises that Haas is a dead end with everything they are doing. Haas are out of date and unable to be competitive in Formula 1. That's a shame for Hulkenberg. You get the feeling that he is dealing with the situation openly and honestly, but that he is also hoping to get away from that situation," Schumacher commented in his column for Sky Germany.

Schumacher's pointing to his compatriot is not entirely coincidental. Hulkenberg, in fact, is said to have spoken to Sauber. Hulkenberg was high on Audi's list to lead the team but was held to his contract by Steiner. There was a clause in Hulkenberg's contract, and Steiner cleverly exploited it.

Schumacher sympathises with Hulkenberg. "I understand him, because he doesn't have forever anymore. He can still do it. He has driven 200 Grands Prix and not even been on the podium yet. Clearly, he is getting impatient."
