Verstappen highly critical: 'They don't know what the hell to do'
- Toby McLuskie
Max Verstappen is a big fan of the sprint format in Formula 1. The Dutchman told this ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, although his remark was obviously meant to be sarcastic. He explained why he would prefer to see sprint racing disappear from the sport.
Verstappen again highly critical
"They just do whatever they want. I think it's just making things up because they don't really know what to do from madness instead of just keeping it normal," Verstappen told Viaplay.
He continued: "That bothers me a bit anyway. Why does the sport suddenly have to be different? Other sports don't also change their rules all the time or suddenly do a 30-minute match? I don't really understand all that."
With the suggestion that the sprint format was created to create more spectacle for the fans, Verstappen disagrees. " Making as much money as possible is what it's all about," concludes the three-time world champion.
