Nico Rosberg does know why Helmut Marko is not fired by Red Bull. The German understands the criticism of the Red Bull Racing adviser, but also knows how to list some strong moments from Marko's past.

There is said to be a power struggle at Red Bull Racing, with Christian Horner allegedly wanting to work the adviser out of the team. At least, that is what Brazil's O Globo reported. Since then, Horner, Marko and also Max Verstappen have spoken out about the situation, and there seems to be no real power struggle.

Why Marko is not leaving Red Bull

Rosberg explained to Sky Germany why, despite some unfortunate statements at times, Marko will never be sacked by Red Bull. "Christian Horner was in talks with Ferrari not long ago. At that time, it is Dr Marko who manages to keep the important people for the team."

The same thing happened at another time with Adrian Newey, who also had to be convinced by Marko not to leave for the Italian racing team. "He was also on his way, and they paid him a lot of money so he stayed all these years. Now he too is part of the success again."

In addition to Red Bull Racing's team boss and chief technical officer, the star driver is also locked in for a long period. Max Verstappen signed a contract until 2028 and Marko is said to have played an important role in that too. Verstappen is therefore said to have indicated to the management that if Marko has to leave, he will leave too. Enough reason, then, for Red Bull to keep Marko for a long time.
