The first two free practice sessions were definitely not great for Red Bull Racing. In the second practice session, drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez only managed to steer the car to P7 and P8. So work to do for Red Bull. External advisor to the team Helmut Marko also sees the team's ailments emerging. He explains his observations.

"The gap is far too big," the Austrian told Sky Germany. "We have a new underbody and we didn't manage to find a good vehicle balance. We had oversteer and understeer all the time," continued the man, who recently received a lot of criticism for comments about Perez.

How next for Red Bull according to Marko?

"We have to find something for qualifying, and we'll rack our brains overnight on how to do that," Marko reveals. "But in the long run, Sergio Pérez was upfront. Mercedes and Fernando Alonso are also there, so it's a close thing," concluded the man from Austria.

That Ferrari was good at the Marina Bay Street Circuit Marko "did expect". The gap between the two Red Bull drivers and the two Ferrari drivers (who finished first and second in both sessions) was quite substantial. The Friday analysis explains that here..
