Dutch Grand Prix weather forecast: rain during all three race days

Formula 1 and rain. The past Grands Prix had some (heavy) rain showers, and even immediately after the summer break, it looks to be a race weekend with a lot of water falling out of the sky. For the first time since the return of the Dutch Grand Prix to the F1 calendar, the race may well be held in rainy conditions.

According to Weeronline, there is a high chance of rain on all three days of the F1 weekend. On Friday, there is the estimated 75 per cent chance of rain, on Saturday and Sunday it is as high as 80 per cent for now. On all race days, rain is likely to fall in the morning and afternoon. On Sunday afternoon - when the Grand Prix is - by far the most water will come down, according to Weeronline.

Not very warm in Zandvoort

It won't be very warm in Zandvoort either. The temperature will fluctuate between 15 and 19 degrees Celsius. According to the forecast, there will be a moderate wind force four on all race days.

So to the tens of thousands of visitors to the Grand Prix, there is the advice to bring ponchos. In the rules and regulations of the race at Zandvoort, the organisers write that it is not allowed to bring umbrellas onto the stands and grounds.
