New front wing for Alpine: 'Should help our performance'

New front wing for Alpine: 'Should help our performance'

The Alpine team performed disappointingly over the weekend in Austria. French driver Esteban Ocon achieved only seventh place in the sprint race, while his teammate Pierre Gasly had to settle for 10th place on Sunday. To improve their performance, Alpine will introduce several upgrades for the British Grand Prix, including a new front wing.

Alpine aims to move higher and higher up the grid through the upgrades. Not only will the team then target the top teams, but also the midfield teams. They will therefore come up with a new front wing for both drivers. With this, the team hopes to get closer and closer to other teams to perhaps fight for a podium spot later on.

"Worked well on bringing, you know, parts for both cars. So yeah, we're having a front wing this weekend that should be helping our performance in general. So, yeah, we are gonna test that this weekend.” said Esteban Ocon. Whether this front wing will benefit will have to be seen from the results of next race weekend at Silverstone.
