Williams rookie Sergey Sirotkin has admitted that he doesn't know whether his team can produce a competitive package in Sochi, where he'll be driving the first home race of his young F1 career.

Sirotkin could use some points right about now, as the Russian is the only driver on the grid who has yet to score any this season. There have been flashes of good driving, like in Singapore when he defended very well from Sergio Pérez's charging Force India, but he hasn't been able to express his driving into any points yet.

With his home race coming up on the calendar, Sirotkin will hope to break his duck in front of his fans, but he can't say whether he'll be in a position to do so.

"It’s that type of track, the combination where it could be a surprise in both ways, really," he told RaceFans.

"So I don’t want to kind of give too much hope, obviously.

"What I can say is that I will fight myself for every hundredth in quali, every millimetre in the race, making sure that whatever I have I do the best possible for me.

"How far in the standings it’s going to be that’s a question I’m not able to answer now.

"From my perspective I just want to do the job as good as I physically can."
