Helmut Marko has lashed out at Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff. The future of former Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher is still unknown, but Marko reveals in an interview with SPORT1 that he is not necessarily looking for a driver like Schumacher, and shifts the responsibility to Wolff.

SPORT1 learned: Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff sought talks with new Red Bull group boss Oliver Mintzlaff to accommodate Schumacher. Marko can confirm this: "It came up during a meeting. It's just a pity that at the same time, Mr Wolff was again openly playing politics with the FIA against us. That took the subject off the table."

Marko: 'Wolff is responsible'

"Why should we pick on Schumacher? He is a Mercedes driver, Mr Wolff is responsible for him. If he thinks so much of him: why not let him drive in his own team or use his influence to get him in a customer team like Williams?" The Red Bull adviser wonders.

Schumacher does seem to be ready for a Formula 1 seat, at least according to himself. He recently told himself that he was ready for the action and that something would happen soon. Whether that will actually be the case, time will tell. In any case, he may get behind the Formula 1 wheel at the 'Festival of Speed'.
