Max Verstappen is currently winning race after race. The Dutchman currently stands at 40 wins, which means that this coming weekend in Canada, he could match Ayrton Senna, who stands at 41 wins. In fact, Nico Rosberg is already adding Verstappen to a line-up of the greatest drivers, he revealed to Sky Sports F1.

Since the start of the 2021 season, Verstappen has managed to win 30 races, all in the space of just 2.5 years on. The Red Bull driver has beaten all his teammates, and with a car that is better than any other in his career, he is now in a great position to take his third world title in a row. For now, there seems to be nothing, or no one, who can beat the two-time world champion and Red Bull.

Comparison with absolute best

The fact that Verstappen is slowly moving his way up the list of drivers with the most wins does not escape Nico Rosberg either. "We are witnessing real historic greatness in line with Schumacher, Hamilton, and Senna. It's a really incredible performance, extraordinary," the 2016 world champion says of Verstappen.

Verstappen's contract

Rosberg himself quit immediately after his first world title at the age of 31. Verstappen's contract expires in 2028, and the Dutchman has spoken out often enough about the chances of him quitting too. Rosberg does not know what to expect: "I can't put myself in his shoes. Money-wise he's done, he has so much he won't have to work again or worry again. Record-wise he's already one of the best of all time by the end of this year."
