Leclerc agrees with Vasseur: 'New people give different perspectives'
Charles Leclerc was delighted with the arrival of Frederic Vasseur as Ferrari's new team boss. Despite not yet having the season the Monegasque driver was hoping for, Vasseur's arrival gave him confidence, which he told GPblog and others.
Charles Leclerc is happy with his new team boss, Fred Vasseur. The Monegasque and the Frenchman are a good duo, Leclerc believes. "We have always had an amazing relationship," says the driver. They have also known each other for years."We've been working together in the junior categories in my first year in Formula One." Vasseur had previously been Leclerc's team boss at Sauber in 2018.
The Ferrari driver is very appreciative of his boss's approach. "He knows me very, very well. He's also very honest with me, which is something that I really like and which I'm sure will help me in the long term." His entry at the Italian racing stable went positively, according to Leclerc. "It was a very smooth introduction. He gets into the team, and he doesn't want huge changes. And I think that's not what we need. It's slight changes that go in the right direction in terms of the way he thinks."
New personnel at Ferrari
Still, Vasseur is very outspoken when it comes to his staff: "I think he's been very clear that he wants to strengthen the team with new people, which is always important as it gives a different point of view of people that are coming from other teams," concludes the five-time race winner.
