Ferrari's season is going poorly so far. The team of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have fallen short, especially in racing. Last weekend, the Scuderia introduced its first upgrades, and according to team boss Frederic Vasseur, the SF-23 did take a step up in performance.

It was not a great weekend for the legendary team from Maranello. Carlos Sainz started second, but ultimately could not go beyond fourth place in the race. Charles Leclerc was completely disappointing. The Monegasque did not manage to get out of Q1, and as a result had to start from 19th place. The man who competed for the championship at the beginning of the season last year managed to make up some places on Saturday, but was unable to get into the points.

Progress SF-23

Despite the disappointing weekend, the Scuderia did make progress. "If you compare Miami and today, I think we made a step forward, probably in the performance. Mercedes also. The global picture is the same. We are probably a bit faster in qualifying but far too inconsistent for the rest," Vasseur told GPBlog and others just after the race.
